About Me
Now we get to the part where I have to explain myself. Or sell myself. Or in some way show you (who are you?) who I am in a few paragraphs; without being too humble or too self-centered... or too incredibly predictable and inane.
Here are the facts: I have some very solid skills in web design. It's true. I know HTML, I've mastered CSS. I can whip up some nice PHP and make it interact with a database; all the typical LAMP skills needed to pump out the kind of websites that have become common in this post-web2.0 world. I can even sprinkle some jQuery on top just to make it a little more user-friendly.
Drupal is my content management system of choice, although I know enough to be useful in Wordpress and Joomla situations. I am a co-organizer of the Triangle Drupal Users' Group (triDUG) and really enjoy giving back to the Drupal community by recruiting new users and helping those who are just beginning get over the huge learning curve.
My technical skills are tempered with plenty of real-world experience; I know how to communicate with clients, discover their goals for a project, manage their expectations and how to manage a project once the expectations or goals begin to change. I believe that planning is the most important part of any high-quality project.
Sometimes I worry how all these computer-oriented skills will be utterly useless should the Zombie Apocalypse occur within my lifetime, but I keep a garden and a modest supply of MREs in the basement... just in case.
